Thanks to the Long Arm
The invention of the sewing machine lead to a new idea called
the quilting machine in the late 1800's. The first machine
was made with two bars that the quilter used to move the
quilt to make straight lines on the fabric. The machine ran
using a hand held crank system.
Boy, have the machines evolved since then! Not since the last
several years has long arm quilting become popular. Among many
of the reasons is that they are quick and easy to use. There
are even professional long arm quilters that you can send your
quilt to.
Among some of the designs for long arm quilting is the pantograph,
which is one long design on the fabric top. The other is a different
design within each quilt block. The latter is more time consuming and
costs more when done by a professional.
There are may manufacturers and models of long arm sewing machines.
Machines are of all different types and sizes. So check out a long arm
quilting machine today.
